Trantec announces the new S6000
British Radio Microphone manufacturer Trantec are preparing to release their new S6000 product range at Frankfurt's "Musikmesse 2003" trade show in March.
The new wideband system will build on the success of the award-winning S5000 range, and is geared towards the most demanding of professional applications. The range will initially comprise of a miniature beltpack transmitter, and state-of-the-art receiver unit, capable of containing up to eight independent receiver cards.
Don't let the size of the S6000 transmitter fool you! In this package they have squeezed in 64 frequencies working from 798 - 865 MHz, Ch 62 -70, all in one pack (no need for different transmitter versions for different channels), battery monitoring, tone grip, Single 'AA' operation, digital gain, Infra red configuration through Palm PDA, Oh, and the best bit, it has a blue power LED!
The S6000 Receiver rack-mounted system is packed with features. It allows up to eight receiver boards to be slotted into each unit. Operational monitoring is taken care of by an in-built PC, which may be controlled via a rack-mounted TFT monitor and keyboard. Additionally, fast Ethernet network capabilities mean that up to four external PCs may be connected to the system, to allow complete monitoring and adjustment control from remote locations around the auditorium. Five receiver racks may be networked together to provide control of every channel through a single PC interface, for the ultimate in multiple channel monitoring and control. All systems update simultaneously, and remote engineers can communicate via the in built 'Chat' facility.
The S6000 Receiver system also contains another innovative feature: On Screen Video Monitoring. Should any channel trigger a pre-set alarm, i.e. a drop below a user-specified RF level, a short video clip is recorded from an attached camera directed at the stage. This video sequence can be recalled later from an alarm log which is created in real time, to allow engineers to pinpoint the circumstances corresponding to the logged "drop-out". In addition, a frequency scan which utilises all available receiver cards, performs a rapid check of available bandwidth to help avoid conflict with other radio systems.
