The Trantec S6 takes Centre Stage at the Royal Variety Performance
Award-winning comedian Peter Kay hosted an unforgettable evening at the recent Royal Variety Performance, which for the first time in 50 years, was broadcast from Blackpool, the home of British variety.
Blackpool’s legendary Opera House, the largest theatre in the UK outside of London, was the chosen venue for this prestigious event, which benefited from performances by artists including Oscar Winning Whoopi Goldberg appearing alongside the cast of the highly successful West End production Sister Act, together with X-factor winner Alexander Burke and Grammy award winner Lady Ga Ga.
Trantec S6 Wireless Microphone Systems were used exclusively during the performance by Whoopi Goldberg and the cast of Sister Act. Together they performed a brilliant rendition of “Raise Your Voice” to Her Royal Highness the Queen and 9 million TV viewers.
The equipment was specified by Surbiton based, specialist broadcast audio supplier Plus 4 Audio, who provided 24 channels of S6 radio microphones. Plus 4 Audio has a wealth of experience in high profile, live sound broadcast applications, including prestigious shows such as Dancing on Ice, Ant and Dec, The National Television Awards, Celebrity Love Island and Children in Need and have a long standing professional relationship with Trantec.
Stewart Chaney MD Plus 4 Audio commented:-
“The S6 was the ideal choice for the job. It’s robust and easy to install. We get eight channels into 2U of rack space which saves valuable space on site and the system incorporates a comprehensive user-interface on the front panel, which allows you to configure and monitor the channels with or without an external PC”.
He added:-
“We have worked with Trantec product for many years and have recently upgraded our stock from S6000 to 48 channels of the new S6. We have also invested in the S7000 Digital system and are really happy with the results we are getting”.
The Trantec S6 is channel 38 ready and compatible with existing S6000 belt-packs. For further information contact Mark Parkhouse or a member of the Sales team on 020 8330 3111, mark@trantec.co.uk.
