news story image

RF Specialist Trantec will showcase its new S5 series UHF radio microphone system and its ground-breaking SD7000 fully digital system at The ABTT Theatre Show on stand no: 21

Designed for challenging multi-channel theatre, broadcast, MI and AV applications, Trantec’s new S5 series UHF radio microphone system features a 40 MHz bandwidth.

The S5 series offers both a handheld and beltpack transmitter alternative. Both are housed in professional quality metal casings and are powered from a single AA cell giving in excess of 10 hours continuous life.

The metal housed 19” ˝ width 1U receiver unit has a rear-lit graphic LCD allowing the user to navigate through the receiver set-up as well as monitor AF and RF. The receiver also benefits from PC monitoring through its USB interface. Transmitter programming is achieved by an infrared data link.

The receiver is programmed with multiple banks of intermodulation-free sets of up to 40 frequencies, as well as having the flexibility of tuning to any grid frequency.

The advanced pilot tone/noise squelch, headphone monitoring and frequency scan option combine to make the S5 a very flexible solution for the most challenging applications. With such high performance capabilities it is a reliable multi-channel solution designed to operate in today’s hostile RF environment.

Priced competitively as a mid-range product, the S5 series features a powerful set of functions normally only seen on top-end equipment; it is a long awaited addition to the Trantec range.

Trantec will preview its new SD7000 – one of the world’s first digital radio microphone systems. Designed and built to exacting specifications, it represents a radical step change as a revolutionary tool for professional multi-channel applications.

Offering exceptional audio clarity by virtue of its 24 bit audio resolution, it delivers pure digital audio transmission. Sonic information enters the digital domain at the microphone head and is output from its receiver in both digital AES3 format as well as conventional analogue

Being digital allows not only more users to be squeezed into the same bandwidth without suffering intermodulation effects, but also gives audio free from the dynamic non-linearities found in all analogue compander circuitry.

Designed for the most challenging production and large-scale events, the SD7000 boasts an exceptional networking capability allowing full control of up to 60 channels. The advanced software features also include scanning, walk test, intermodulation calculator and Packet Audio enabling audio monitoring over the network.

The dual receiver operates in a 32MHz bandwidth between 650MHz to 870MHz with up to 60 available channels. It is a 1U 19” full rack width and is built to withstand the rigors of professional use on location, on tour, in the studio and in any rental fleet.

The same high quality is evident on both handheld and beltpack transmitters. The handheld comes in both dynamic and condenser options; the beltpack has an industry standard 3 pin Lemo connector. Both transmitters operate on two AA cells giving over six hours life.

Trantec’s Sales & Marketing Executive, Mark Parkhouse commented:

" Both the S5 series and the SD7000 represents vital additions to the Trantec range and illustrates the company’s ability to bring out products in line with contemporary demands.”
